Exchange Building, site of St. Agatha's Conservatory
OUR HISTORY
St. Joseph's School of Music dates back to the 1880's when St. Agatha's Conservatory was established at 26 E. Exchange St., St. Paul, and St. Joseph's Academy Music Department was flourishing at 355 Marshall Ave., St. Paul. Both were sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. The two institutions and their traditions of excellence merged into St. Joseph's School of Music which opened in 1971 at 1890 Randolph Ave., St. Paul. From 1992-2006 the School was located at 1550 Summit Ave., St. Paul, and in January, 2006 moved to its present location in the Bigelow Building.
