2010-2011 TERMS AND POLICIES

Enrollment
is for four nine-week terms and summer term varies by studio, to be determined by individual teachers.

Location of lessons

It is the School’s intention that all lessons take place on-site where we provide pianos, administrative support, adequate parking, quiet lesson space and liability insurance. If the teacher and parent/student agree to hold lesson(s) off-site, tuition is still paid to the School, and the parent/student will release the School and teacher of all liability.

Registration and Tuition

A registration fee of $30 is paid only once, when the student first enrolls. Additional family members pay $20.00 each. If a student begins within a term, that term is pro-rated. Tuition is due at the first lesson of each term. Reminders are posted in the School two weeks before the due date. A $20 late fee is added to tuition paid after the second week of a term. A fee of $20 will be charged to cover the costs of a returned check.

Tuition Due Dates

Term I Week of September 7

Term II Week of November 8

Term III Week of Jan 31

Term IV Week of April 11

Summer Week of June 20

Make-up policies
are determined by each teacher and a copy is given to the student at the first lesson. The teacher will notify students if for any reason, including bad weather, he/she will not be teaching. If the teacher misses a lesson, he/she will make it up. Ifthe teacher is here, his/her classes are held even in bad weather.

Withdrawal and Refunds
Any student who plans to withdraw at the end of a term must notify the teacher two weeks before the end of the term or pay half of the next term tuition. If a student withdraws within a term, a pro-rated refund will be granted as follows: 50% after the first week; 25% after the second week. No refund will be given after the third week. A student may change teachers at the end of a term or a teacher may ask that a student be assigned to another teacher.

Food and beverages
are not allowed in our studios or waiting areas, except water. Eating areas in the building are located across from the deli on the ground floor.
